I have used text over the top of my own photographs , both low and high key to experiment with them and result in a successful series of experimental portraits. I tried different colour effects, fonts and different areas to keep or delete text. The text shows the shadows from the original in some and in others the lighter areas. My biggest strength was finding which experiments worked best within my edits. I could have improved my experimental blurred portraits by testing different text or sizes.
